After entering some basic contact information and creating a new password that you'll use later to log in, you will need to choose which type of trucker account is most appropriate for your situation.
Decide What Kind of Account You Need
Whether you're an independent owner/operator or you own multiple trucks and employ drivers, you can use TruxNow to find work and manage all of your drivers' schedules as well as your own. First, you'll need to choose which type of trucker account best fits your situation:
- Owner/Operator: If you are an independent owner/operator, you own and drive your own truck, and you do not pay any additional drivers as employees, select the Owner/Operator option. This will allow you to find work, accept jobs, and receive payment for all of the work you complete through TruxNow.
- Truck Owner: If you own multiple trucks and you pay drivers as employees to drive them, select the Truck Owner option. This will allow you to accept jobs not just for yourself, but for your drivers as well. You will be paid for all of the work completed by yourself or any of your drivers.
- Truck Driver: If you do not own your own truck(s), choose the Truck Driver option during signup. Once your employer signs up, you will need to link your account with theirs, so that your employer can find available jobs and assign them to you.
If you are a Truck Owner, you will receive an email with an 8-digit code that your drivers will need to link your accounts together. Send this 8-digit code to all of your drivers. When they sign up, they should select the Truck Driver option. The app will then ask them to enter your 8-digit code. Once they do, your accounts will be linked, and each time you accept a job you'll have the option to select their name from a list to assign the job to them.
If you are a Truck Driver, ask your employer for the 8-digit code they received after signing up as a Truck Owner. Enter their 8-digit code when prompted in the TruxNow app. Once you do that, your employer will be able to assign jobs to you.
